DWYER-OWENS NAMED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISE ASSOCIATION (9/00)

Dina Dwyer-Owens, President and CEO of The Dwyer Group (NASDAQ: DWYR), has been named to the International Franchise Association's Board of Directors. Her term, which begins in 2001, is for three years and can be renewed for an additional three years.

"I'm honored to be serving for one of the world's largest and most-respected organizations that upholds the principles of franchising," Dwyer-Owens said of her appointment.

The IFA Board of Directors, which approves an operating budget of almost $6 million, meets quarterly and provides guidance and recommendations to the International franchise Association, based in Washington, D. C.

In addition to Dwyer-Owens, other executives named to the Board for 2001 included: Knight's Franchise Systems Inc. President and CEO Bruce Bloom, Taco Bell Senior Vice President of Franchise Relations Pat Flanagan, Country Inns & Suites President Paul Kirwin, and Wendy's International Vice President of Government Relations Mary Schell.
