Dina Dwyer-Owens Named Secretary of the International Franchise Association

Dina Dwyer-Owens, president and CEO of The Dwyer Group®, has been named secretary of the International Franchise Association (IFA), the world’s largest and oldest trade group representing the Franchising sector.  She received her appointment at the IFA’s 46 th annual convention, recently held in Palm Springs , Calif. , and will fill the position for one year.

Based in Washington D.C. , the IFA was established in 1960 and today includes more than 1,000 franchise companies, 8,000 franchisees and 400 suppliers among its members.  Dwyer-Owens has been a member of the IFA’s board of directors for several years leading up to her appointment as secretary for the organization.

“I’m honored to play a part in helping the association protect, enhance and promote the principles of franchising worldwide,” Dwyer-Owens said of her long involvement with the IFA.

“Franchising plays an important role in the U.S. economy and across the globe,” she added.  “And as secretary of the IFA I look forward to working with a team of leaders who help represent those interests with a united voice as an advocate for the industry.”
