Dwyer Group Franchise Sales Growth Attributed to Enthusiastic Franchisees in 2001

Management of The Dwyer Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:DWYR) announced that an unprecedented 35.7 percent of the company's Franchise sales came from within the company's various franchisor corporations in 2001. The remaining leads came from conventional means such as trade shows, advertising and marketing efforts.

"I attribute our franchise sales growth to happy franchisees who endorse what our franchisor companies are doing," said Dina Dwyer-Owens, president and CEO of The Dwyer Group.

That included 19.4 percent of all new sales of a Dwyer Group franchise concept being purchased by existing franchisees-those who bought an additional franchise concept or an additional territory to their existing franchise.

"Whether through adding multiple concepts or purchasing larger territories, the companies have been a strong resource for franchise owners who have a bigger vision on the local level," Dwyer-Owens said.

Another 13.6 percent of growth in 2001 came from referrals from existing franchisees.

"Sometimes the best person to judge if someone is suitable for franchise ownership is someone who owns that franchise," Dwyer-Owens said. "And our franchisees continue to be our companies' strongest recruiters."

The final 2.7 percent of new sales for the year was a result of the innovative H.I.R.E. [Hiring Individuals, Retaining Entrepreneurs] program, which allows employees of any Dwyer Group franchisor concept to earn increasing discounts toward the purchase of their own franchise through years of loyal service.
