DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen Hires McCadden as Franchise Systems Manager
DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen by Worldwide® has hired nationally-known columnist, business trainer, speaker and award-winning remodeler Shawn McCadden, CR/CLC, as Franchise systems manager, effective this month.
"Shawn will be a huge asset to the DreamMaker team as we continue to grow our presence in the United States," said Doug Dwyer, president and owner of DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen. "His expertise speaks volumes, and he's admired and respected in the industry for leading by example with the success of his own remodeling company as proof of his talent and skills.
"McCadden, a Certified Remodeler and Certified Lead Carpenter, brings more than 25 years of experience in the remodeling and new home construction industry to his job at DreamMaker. He is president of Custom Contracting, Inc. in Arlington, Mass., an award-winning firm named to Qualified Remodeling Magazine's Top 500 ranking and Remodeling Magazine's Big 50 remodeling ranking. Established in 1990, the $2 million business maintains a 40 percent gross profit and a 10 percent pre-tax net.
Dwyer said Custom Contracting's day-to-day operations are 100 percent managed by a high-quality employee team. This is a prime example of where every DreamMaker franchise owner can take his or her firm, he added. "Shawn understands the importance of systems in operating a business," Dwyer said. "After growing his team and training the right people, Shawn's company now requires no more than 4 to 5 hours of his time each month. The business now works for Shawn, rather than the other way around."
McCadden also used his personal experiences and success to co-found the Residential Design/Build Institute, which offered business coaching and consulting services to remodeling and construction firms across the United States. It was there that McCadden found a new passion for helping other remodelers grow their businesses and improve their lives using the methods he had perfected.
Now, as franchise systems manager for DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen, McCadden will continue his coaching services in an exclusive role for DreamMaker. He will handle new franchise owner training in Waco, Texas, and give ongoing regional training for experienced franchise owners, guiding people to improve their management and operating systems at various stages of growth for their DreamMaker franchise.
An active member for NARI and a regular columnist for Design/Build Business magazine, McCadden also will continue to maintain a national profile under his new association with DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen. He currently serves as a Massachusetts local and NARI National Board Representative and is a member of the NARI Certification Board. He also speaks at industry trade shows and conventions throughout the year.
"Joining DreamMaker is a great opportunity for me in an industry that is rapidly evolving," McCadden said. McCadden said a new era of professionalism, consolidation and maturity is taking the forefront in remodeling.
"Leaders like DreamMaker can not only impact where the industry goes, but also direct where the industry goes," he said.
