Franchise News Release: MINNEAPOLIS, MN - (Jun-14-2005)

College Nannies & Tutors, a high profile, local success story, starts franchising and expanding in Minnesota

Joseph Keeley, President of College Nannies & Tutors Development, Inc. (CNTD), the parent company of College Nannies & Tutors Learning Centers and Child development programs, announced today that the company has been approved by the State of Minnesota to begin its Minnesota Franchising program. In the last few weeks, CNTD, has also been approved for franchising in over thirty other states. College Nannies & Tutors operates learning centers and provides nannies who specialize in child development to families with children from infancy to 18 years of age.

According to 24-year-old Keeley, a 2003 graduate of the University of St. Thomas’s Undergraduate Program in Entrepreneurship and winner of the 2003 Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year award for the business concept, “Minnesota is our home state and we are delighted to be able to expand beyond our current offices into St. Cloud, Rochester, Duluth and other Minneapolis metro locations. Minnesota is a great business environment for this concept because of the high value Minnesotans place on child development and education.”

Peter Lytle, the company’s Executive Chairman, who is a former teacher and prominent Minneapolis businessman known for his bid on Fingerhut, said,: “I have worked with Joe on this concept for the last two years and believe we have developed not only a wonderful business system and background technology, but also have created a business model that makes a real difference in a community and in a child’s life. I constantly have parents tell me that their children love learning for the first time or that their child doesn’t want their nanny to leave for the day, children see our staff as big brothers and sisters. College students are such a great and eager to learn population and make a very dedicated staff of certified tutors and nannies.”

Joseph Keeley founded College Nannies & Tutors in 2001 while attending the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Joseph saw a need for the service while working as a nanny and tutor himself during school. Soon he started providing these services to other families and the concept turned into a local success story. Peter Lytle was giving the keynote speech at the Minnesota Collegiate Entrepreneur Award ceremony in 2003 when Keeley won and was so impressed by the concept and the young man that he offered on the spot to invest and help Keeley build his company into a national brand. It took several years of concentrated effort and lots of testing and planning, but today the company operates multiple locations from Minneapolis and St. Paul to Phoenix, AZ, and is poised for rapid expansion. College Nannies & Tutors will soon be promoting its mission of "fostering a child's happiness and success through academic and developmental growth" across the country.
