Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Becomes 'Official Burger of the Atlanta Falcons' (8/01)

Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Atlanta Falcons football team that includes the status of 'Official Burger of the Atlanta Falcons'.

"We are very happy to be part of the Atlanta Falcons' team and predict a successful season for both the Falcons and our Atlanta-area Checkers restaurants," said Richard S. Turer, Vice President of Marketing for Checkers Drive-In Restaurants.

To promote its joining of the Atlanta Falcons "team", Checkers Drive-In Restaurants is introducing in the Atlanta market a special Big Falcons Combo, a half-pound double cheeseburger, large order of fries and soft drink served in a special 44-ounce Falcons collector's cup.

"We are proud to have Checkers as part of our marketing team," stated Mark Fuhrman, Director of Corporate Sales for the Falcons. "We are excited by the way Checkers plans to promote the Falcons in all of its locations throughout the Atlanta marketplace and making the Falcons its primary message during our season."

Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., which operates restaurants under the Checkers® and Rally's Hamburgers® names, is also an official sponsor of the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mr. Turer noted that each of those teams reached the playoffs in the year they signed a sponsorship agreement with Checkers.
