Lifetime customers are franchise owner's goal

Although the company is all about painting, it is also certified to perform light carpentry and make general repairs on areas that are to be painted.

“We strive to make sure that the customer is really happy through communication, even if it is a small job,” said Stephen Folk, who owns the local franchise.

Folk opened the business in January. His territory includes Brandon, Clinton, Jackson, Madison, Pearl, Pelahatchie, Richland and Ridgeland.

“I found CertaPro painters and found out that it was possible to start a franchise,” Folk said.

Folk said the structure of a Franchise was an advantage. He said the start-up costs were between $90,000 and $140,000. The new enterprise complements Folk’s skills as a carpenter. He worked in the industry for 10 years.

Theresa Moody of Jackson said the company was very professional when they worked on her home.

“He came when he said he would come, and when they left they didn’t leave a mess,” Moody said.

Customers are able to tour a project to make sure everything is done to their satisfaction, Folk said. The goal is to develop lifetime customers, he said.

Prices depend on the prep work needed and the condition of the area, Folk said.
