Carl's Jr. Franchisee Donates More than $30,000 to American Red Cross (10/01)

Carl Karcher Enterprises, Inc. announced that its largest franchisee, Senior Classic Leasing, LLC, has donated $30,810 to the American Red Cross to help in relief efforts for victims of the terrorist attacks last month.

Fundraisers were held at 26 of the franchise's restaurants in the San Fernando Valley, Calif. area recently when 25 percent of all sales from 5 to 9 p.m. was donated. A total of $5,810 was raised. Senior Classic Leasing Franchise owner Harshad Dharod also pledged an additional $25,000. Employees were invited to contribute toward the pledge with Dharod personally making up the difference.

"Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the horrific attacks and having this fundraiser seemed the best way for us to help out," said Dharod. "I would like to thank everyone who came out to make the fundraiser so successful as well as my district managers, Patrick Burke and Robyn Morrow for their hard work in putting the event together."

Senior Classic Leasing, LLC, a Carl's Jr. franchise partner since December 2000, currently operates 65 restaurants primarily in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas.
