Carl's Jr. Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary

Carl's Jr. is celebrating 60 years of serving good stuff! Since July 17, 1941, when a young man named Carl N. Karcher went into business for himself by purchasing a Hot Dog cart in Los Angeles, Carl's Jr. has been synonymous with great food and great service.

In honor of the occasion, participating Carl's Jr. restaurants in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura counties will be selling Famous Star™ hamburgers for 60 cents on Tuesday, July 17, 2001. Each customer may purchase up to 10 hamburgers.

"Serving our guests is still at the core of our business today, so it's only fitting that the community be invited to share in our celebration," said Carl N. Karcher, founder of Carl's Jr. "We have enjoyed their loyal patronage for many years and we wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you."

Carl Karcher Enterprises, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CKE Restaurants, Inc., owns and operates a system of 969 company and franchised Carl's Jr. quick-service restaurants in 12 Western states, Mexico and the Philippines.
