The list ranks locally-based franchises by the number of metro-Washington-area locations. Bookkeeping Express has seven area locations, tying with the Austin Grill, which was founded in 1988. Currently, Bookkeeping Express is offering bookkeeping services through locations in McLean, Reston, Arlington, and Leesburg, Virginia; Rockville, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Three entrepreneurs in McLean purchased Bookkeeping Express, a national provider of bookkeeping services, in 2007, moved its headquarters to McLean and launched a national Franchising system in mid-June 2008. About the New Bookkeeping Express Owners Robert Stocker, President and Chief Operating Officer of Bookkeeping Express, has been the President of Stocker Advisory Services in Bethesda, Maryland, since 2003. His firm provides general business consulting and advisory services. Prior to that, Stocker was President and CEO of Transaction Verification Systems in Falls Church, Virginia. Merritt Green, Chairman of Bookkeeping Express, founded the law firm, General Counsel, P.C. in McLean, Virginia, in 2004. Prior to that, Green was an attorney with the Washington, D.C., based law firm of Venable, LLP. More about Bookkeeping Express Coming out of Northern California in 1987, Bookkeeping Express started out selling services to small businesses through a licensing model.
