Baskin-Robbins to Host 'Free Scoop Night' to Support Children's Literacy

Baskin-Robbins announced their third annual "Free Scoop Night" event on Wednesday, May 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. With an anticipated three million consumers stopping by participating stores nationwide to enjoy a free scoop of their favorite flavor of ice cream, Baskin-Robbins expects to give out an equivalent of more than 200 scoops per second.

For every free scoop served, Baskin-Robbins will make a donation to First Book, a national nonprofit organization that provides free, new books to children from low-income families. To date, the Baskin-Robbins Free Scoop Night donations have enabled First Book to distribute more than half a million new books to children across the country.

"Free Scoop Night is a fun event and a cool way to support children's literacy," said Debra Newton, global communications director for Baskin- Robbins. "It's also our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers who have enjoyed our ice cream for years."

"Baskin-Robbins' commitment to literacy and America's children is truly remarkable," said First Book president, Kyle Zimmer."
