BAB Opens 300th Unit

CHICAGO (February 9, 1999) --BAB Holdings, Inc., the Chicago-based operator and franchisor of Big Apple Bagels, My Favorite Muffin, and Brewster's Coffee concept stores, announced that it has opened its three-hundredth retail unit.

The Franchise operated store, featuring BAB's successful new tri-brand concept, opened in Indianapolis on February 6. This is the fourth unit for BAB's franchisee, Bagel Emporium, LLC., which opened locations in Avon, Fishers, and Indianapolis within the last year. Bagel Emporium has an Area Development Agreement with BAB to open six more stores within the Indianapolis area.

"This is a significant milestone for us. The industry has undergone many changes since the opening of our first store in 1993 and we have worked hard to differentiate BAB within our segment," states Michael W. Evans, President and Chief Executive Officer of BAB Holdings. "It is gratifying that BAB has stepped up to be the true growth company among our competitors."

The opening of this location is being marked by local television coverage and plans for a Grand Opening event are now underway.
