In the late 1980s, Soto acquired his first job in the information-technology industry, and only six months later he was wooed by the U.S. Department of Labor to work for them in a critical high-tech capacity. His professional relationship with the Department of Labor continued for the next 13 years, until he transitioned into a similar position with the U.S. Customs Service. Four years later, Soto decided the time was right to go into business for himself.
